Bangladesh: PM Sheikh Hasina leaves country for 'safer place'; Resignation possible

Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has left Dhaka Palace with her sister Sheikh Rehana for a 'safer place' after fresh protests demanding her resignation, say news reports.

Sheikh Hasina's resignation is a "possibility".

"She and her sister have left Ganabhaban (the premier's official residence) for a safer place," a senior advisor to the Bangladesh prime minister said on condition of anonymity. (with Agency inputs)
