New Delhi: The Centre has now lifted the ban, after 58 years, on government employees participating in the activities of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). 

The Government decision to lift the ban has resulted into a political war of words between Opposition leaders and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The decision to allow government employees to participate in RSS activities has led to backlash from opposition leaders, who argue that it undermines national integrity. Congress MP KC Venugopal called it a ‘very unfortunate move’.

The order has been issued by the Ministry of Personnel.
