Aurangzeb Tomb: Man held for offensive social media post in Thane

On the basis of a complaint, Thane Police registered a case under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Read further on Dynamite News:

Thane: A man was detained for posting offensive comments with a purpoted photo of himself along with the Mughal King Aurangzeb's tomb, official said on Monday.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the accused is a resident of Samata Nagar in Ulhasnagar township, Thane district.

A teacher had approached the Ulhasnagar police with the complaint that the man posted on his WhatsApp status the picture of himself standing near Aurangzeb's tomb and wrote some objectionable comment under it. 

On the basis of the complaint, Thane Police registered a case under various sections, including 196 (1) (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth etc), of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The police has been launched a probe into the incident.
