At least 11 killed, 22 wounded in road mishap in Pakistan’s Punjab province

Islamabad: At least eleven people were killed and 22 others injured after a passenger bus overturned in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province on Monday, police said.

Attock district
The incident occurred on the M-14 Motorway near Fateh Jang in the Attock district.

Women and children among injured
According to reports, women and children are among the victims. The ill-fated bus was on its way to the country’s capital Islamabad from the eastern Bahawalpur district when it met the accident.

The victims belonged to Bahawalpur, Vehari, Sharaqpur and Islamabad, officials said.
 
Rescue officials
Furthermore, rescue officials said that six people, including three women, have been shifted to Benazir Bhutto Hospital, whereas one injured has been transferred to Islamabad and District Headquarter Hospital, each, Geo News reported.

Probe ordered 
Motorway Police Inspector General Riffat Mukhtar has ordered an immediate investigation into the accident.
