Assembly Polls: JMM-led INDIA alliance set to form Govt in Jharkhand

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA bloc set to reatin the power in Jharkahnd as JMM has won 13 seats and also leading in 22 seats while its alliance partner Congress has secured three seats and leading in 13 others, according to ECI data.
INDIA alliance made a stunning comeback after trailing initially in the trends and currently ahead in more than 55 seats in the 81-member state assembly. The BJP-led NDA is now leading in 26 seats.
RJD & CPI(ML)(L)
Besides, RJD has won one seat and leading on 3 while CPI(ML)(L) has secured one seat and also ahead in one seat. Both are part of INDIA alliance.

BJP
BJP fight election on corruption plank against Hemant Soren. The saffron party also raised the issue of 'love jihad' and 'illegal immigration from from Bangladesh' in the state, but it seems nothing worked for BJP.
On the other hand, JMM fought polls on its welfare schemes, especially the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana, and the adivasi asmita (tribal pride) narrative. The Maiya Samman Yojana enables eligible women beneficiaries to receive Rs one thousand per month.
Soren resigned as the Chief Minister of the state before his arrest on January 31 by the ED in an alleged money laundering case. Later, senior leader Champai Soren replaced Soren as CM of the state. However, Hemant was sworn in as Chief Minister for a third time in July after being granted bail by the High Court in connection with the money laundering case.

Following the developments, Champai Soren eventually switched side and joined the BJP ahead of the Assembly polls. The BJP leaders made accusations that a tribal leader was insulted by the JMM.
