Kamrup: In a joint operation, the team of Special Task Force (STF), Assam and Kamrup district police have seized a large quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 2 crore and arrested five persons including two women on Saturday.
DIG (STF) Partha Sarathi Mahanta told ANI that in an operation led by Additional Superintendent of Police (STF) Kalyan Pathak with a team of Kamrup police late Saturday night launched an operation.

"A vehicle coming from Manipur was intercepted at Amingaon area and during search 250 grams of heroin recovered. On spot, three persons and two women have been arrested. During follow-up action two more persons have been picked up. The contraband was hidden in stepney," Partha Sarathi Mahanta said.
The arrested persons were identified as Abdul Rajak Shah (36), Md Yunus Khan (39), Lila Kanta Saikia (28), Bibi Sara (41) and Jarina (25). The senior police official further said that the market value of the seized drugs is estimated at around Rs 2 crore.
