New Delhi: The Assam Assembly elections will be held in three phases with polling to take place on, and 6th April with the counting of votes to take place on 2 May, according to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora.

With the announcement of the election schedule, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the state.
