New Delhi: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Wednesday announced that the selection trials for the upcoming Asian Championships will be held on March 15 at the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex in the national capital.

The Asian Championships will be held in Amman, Jordan between March 25 and 30. Select Indian players will be participating in the trails.

This will be the first selection trial under the supervision of the new administration of WFI. 

It was suspended three days after the elections were held on December 21, 2023 to elect new WFI office bearers.

The Sports Ministry lifted the suspension of WFI on Tuesday, after which the way was cleared to participate in the competitions.

Its status as a National Sports Federation (NSF) restored, the WFI swung to action, announcing that the selection trials for the upcoming Asian Championships.
