Srinagar: An off-duty soldier has gone missing from Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, according to sources.

The 25-year-old Army man identified as Javed Ahmad Wani, a resident of Asthal Kulgam and posted in Ladakh, had come home on leave. However, he has gone missing from around 8 pm Saturday, his family said, fearing he may have been kidnapped.

A video has surfaced on social media in which his parents are seen appealing to his alleged abductors for his release.

“If our son has done anything wrong, please forgive him”, the parents said in the video.

“Javed come home, please release him on mercy”, the mother said in the video.

Security forces have launched a massive hunt to trace the missing soldier.

There is no official word, either from the police or the Army about the missing soldier. (UNI)
