AP govt extends Covid curfew till Jun 30 with 12 hours relaxation

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government has extended the Covid Curfew till June 30 and the relaxation of curfew hours were also extended till 6 pm from 2 pm.
Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy held a review meeting with the officials on the Covid-19 situation at his camp office on Friday.
He announced the extension of the Covid curfew from June 21 to June 30 since positive cases were being reported from various districts.

The Chief Minister said that the Covid curfew would be relaxed from 6 am to 6 pm every day from June 21.
However, the curfew relaxation hours would be limited to 6 am to 2 pm in East Godavari district in view of reporting of a large number of positive cases, he added.
Reddy said the government ordered for the closure of all commercial establishments by 5 pm. However, the government offices would function in their regular timings and the Chief Minister directed the officials to make the needed changes for all the employees to attend to their respective offices.

The state government imposed a 15-day Covid curfew on May 5 to check the massive spread of Coronavirus positive cases and later extended thrice.
Ministers Alla Kalikrishna Srinivas, Botsa Satyanarayana, DGP Gautam Sawang and Covid Command Control Centre chairman Dr.K S Jawahar were among those who were present at the meeting.
