Vijayawada: In a sudden and surprise announcement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's mother Vijayamma on Friday resigned as YSRC honorary president to support her daughter Sharmila.

Vijayamma announced her resignation during the party's plenary session. She said that she will now support her daughter Sharmila and her new party YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) in Telanagana.

Addressing the plenary session, Vijayamma said, "When he (YS Jagan Mohan Reddy) was in trouble I was with him, now he is happy here. My daughter (YS Sharmila) is fighting alone, if I don’t support her, it will be injustice...I am telling you all about this and I request all to forgive me.
