Akhilesh Yadav seeks Amit Shah's apology over Ambedkar remarks

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday sought Union Home Minister Amit Shah's apology over his remarks on Dr B R Ambedkar during debate in Parliament on the Constitution.

'Govt hurts sentiments' 
Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Akhilesh Yadav said, "The government has hurt the sentiments of the people through its behaviour and words over Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar."


Referring to Amit Shah's remark on Ambedkar, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, "They should apologise and take back their words."

MP Dimple Yadav
Party MP Dimple Yadav also demanded apology from Home Minister.

"We want the BJP MPs to apologise because they have insulted Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar who is an idol for every citizen of the country," she said. 

SP Stages Protest
Samajwadi Party Mps also staged a protest from Vijay Chowk to Parliament.

INDIA Bloc
Besides, several INDIA bloc MPs, including Rajya Sabha LoP Malikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also staged a protest on the last of winter session today over the Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks over Dr BR Ambedkar in the Upper House.
