Gorakhpur: Hours after Dynamite News published a report highlighting the devastating impact of polluted-water due to which fishes are dying in Ami River in Gorakhpur, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed his concern and called it a ‘crisis of life cycle’.
The former UP CM Akhilesh took to X and shared the Dynamite News video.

Akhilesh Yadav wrote, "The death of hundreds of fishes in Gorakhpur and more than 200 turtles in Kanpur is a matter of concern. This is not just a question of the death of fishes and turtles but it is a crisis of the 'life cycle' related to water."

He blames BJP
He also held the BJP goverment responsible for this, saying the government is indifferent towards the issues of air and water pollution.
"The main reason for this is the indifference of the BJP government towards air and water pollution. Through its corrupt policies, the BJP has polluted the political environment and has also become a threat to the environment of social harmony and ecology. When the BJP itself has become a problem, then how will it solve any problem." Mr Yadav quipped.
Dynamite News reported that an epidemic may hit the Khajni tehsil area due to concerns over consuming fish from the contaminated Ami River.

Besides, the contaminated water also poses threat to the life of animals.
'Chemicals being dumped in Ami River'
Locals whom Dynamite News talked to said that chemicals from factories are being dumped in the Ami River, due to which the water is getting polluted.
Last year, an epidemic had spread in Unwal Nagar Panchayat due to the polluted water. The locals also urged the administration to save the river.
