At least 17 militants belonging to the Taliban insurgent group were killed in a joint operation by the Afghan air forces and ground forces in southern Helmand province.
Kabul: At least 17 militants belonging to the Taliban insurgent group were killed in a joint operation by the Afghan air forces and ground forces in southern Helmand province.
The local officials said on Thursday, that the operation was carried out a day before in which 17 Taliban insurgents were killed and five others were injured.

Provincial governor spokesperson Omar Zwak said, "The forces have also seized weapons during the operation."
Taliban has not commented on the incident so far.
