66 killed, 51 injured in Turkish ski resort fire, check all updates

Istanbul: At least 66 people were killed and 51 others injured after a massive fire erupted at an upscale hotel at a popular ski resort in northern Turkey on Tuesday, Turkish authorities said.

According to the authorities, the fire broke out at the Kartalkaya resort in northwest Turkey's Bolu province at 3:27 a.m. (local time). 
 

Povincial Governor
Provincial Governor Abdulaziz Aydin said that the 12-story hotel was hosting 234 guests when the blaze erupted.

Many eye witnesses said that many people jumped from the upper floors of the building in panic. 

Governor said that two people, a guest and a hotel employee, died after jumping from the building. 

Cause of fire
The cause of the fire was not immediatly known.

Four detained
Four people, including the owner of the hotel, were detained by the authorities, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said on X (Formerly known as Twitter).
