Taranjit Singh Sandhu appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Sri Lanka

New Delhi/ 22 September 2016. Taranjit Singh Sandhu (IFS: 1988) has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

 

Mr. Sandhu, with a distinguished career spanning over twenty eight years after joining Indian Foreign Service in 1988, has previously served in Sri Lanka as the Head of the Political Department in the High Commission of India, Colombo from December 2000 to September 2004.

 

Ambassador Sandhu was at the Permanent Mission of India to United Nations, New York (July 2005-Feb 2009), where he was India's delegate to UN Committee on Peacekeeping; UN Committee on Information; and UN Committee on Decolonization.
