SAU first convocation in Delhi: 450 students to get degrees

About 450 students, including 31 gold medallists, will be awarded degrees by South Asian University (SAU) in its maiden convocation organised in Vigyan Bhawan here on June 11.

 

 

The South Asian University is an international university sponsored by the eight member states of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). The member countries are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

 

 

Chief Guest 
External Affairs Minister of India, Sushma Swaraj, will be the chief guest. 

 

 

Ceremony President 
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal, Kamal Thapa, will preside over the ceremony and give away the degrees.

 

The Education Ministers of all eight country members have also been invited.
