DN recipe: Apple Pie

Apple pie is an absolute favourite dish which can be easily baked at home. For some special occasions you must try this dish. 

Dynamite News brings you the recipe of apple pie. 


   Ingredients 

    Pie crust:

    1 cup atta
    ½ cup maida
    ¼ cup butter
    ? cup water at room temperature
    ½ tsp salt or as required

 

    Apple filling:

     2 medium sized apples peeled, cored and sliced
    ¼ teaspoon cinnamon powder (dal chini powder)
    ¼ teaspoon nutmeg powder (jaiphal)
    2 tablespoon whole atta
    2 tablespoon sugar
    Butter to top the filling

 


Method
Mix atta, maida, salt and butter flour evenly.


Put cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder, sugar into the sliced apples. 

 

Preheat your oven and grease the pie with butter. 

 

Divide the dough into two or four equal parts roll it on work surface and cover rolled pie crusts with a napkin to prevent drying.

 

Place one of the rolled pie crust gently on the pan and cover it pan with another rolled pie crust and fold the edges. 

 

Cut through the top pie crust with a fork from top so as to allow steam to pass whilst baking and brush it with milk.

 

Bake the apple pie at 180 degrees Celsius for 50-60 minutes till the crust becomes golden and crisp. Now serve it
