Alok Verma appointed as the new CBI director

Delhi police chief, Alok Kumar Verma has been appointed as the new CBI Director by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and consisting Chief Justice of India J S Khehar and leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge.


Alok Verma's name has been selected from a list of 45 IPS officers.

 
Verma, a 1979-batch IPS officer of the Arunachal, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, has held many posts including DG, Tihar.
